Student Services Overview

I put student needs first.

At Making Montessori Mine, I pride myself on putting students and their needs first. I have a long history of advocating for students’ needs and of targeting instruction to meet students at their individual challenge level. I strive to target instruction to each child’s individual skill level and provide them with quality, personalized instruction that incorporates both their personal interests and their educational needs and goals. I have extensive experience in working with students with diverse learning needs and can target each student’s individual strengths and challenges in the lessons I present and the support I offer to parents and teachers of diverse learners.

My student assessments are opportunities for me to interact with students one-on-one, to provide them with specific assessment tasks that help me gain insight into where the students are in their course of study and where their instructional needs lie. After the assessment session, I will create a detailed report and meet with the adults to discuss the results of the assessment activities. Then, we work together to create an individualized plan of instruction that will help the student progress towards mastery of targeted skills and lessons.

I also help students work on practical life skills as part of their educational journey. I can help them get organized, keep track of work, set goals, find ways to demonstrate lesson mastery, analyze their performance, manage their time, and monitor their progress in the sequence of lessons. I strongly encourage students to use their resources and learn to self-advocate for their needs as people and as learners.

As part of my customization for students, I can suggest, make, and provide the Montessori materials and tools that each student can use for their educational work and practice.Â
